another one fight the dust

Mobilising our tradies to prevent silica dust exposure

Silicosis is Australia’s worst industrial health crisis since asbestos. It’s estimated that 600,000 workers are exposed to silica dust. Without intervention, it is predicted silica dust exposure will cause 10,000+ new lung cancer cases and 100,000 silicosis cases.

We knew we had to create a movement that united at-risk workers under a campaign that framed silica dust as the common, imminent threat. We needed to mobilise the at-risk workforce with a common cause: protect your livelihood, and your mates from silicosis.

This gave rise to our campaign: Another One Fights The Dust.

Backed by real voices, we led a multi-faceted paid social, earned media, paid search, out-of-home launch to coincide with the start of National Safe Work Month.

In six weeks, thousands of people visited our microsite in a range of languages, with many downloading educational resources to help them understand more about their risk. This means our campaign has led to thousands of potential silicosis cases being investigated and potentially thousands more now actively practicing silicosis prevention behaviour.
