27 March 2018: Howorth’s Director of Content, Brian Corrigan, won the ‘Best Corporate Content’ category at the much coveted IT Journo Awards 2018.
Corrigan, previously a journalist with The Australian Financial Review, was presented the award for an in-depth cybersecurity report he wrote for Microsoft. The report was developed from a roundtable discussion featuring chief information security officers from some of Australia’s biggest companies and government departments. The session was chaired by Microsoft’s global vice president of cybersecurity, Ann Johnson.
Now in its 15th year, this is the first time the IT Journo Awards has included a category for corporate content.
“This is a great validation of the high-quality work we’re producing for our clients,” Corrigan said. “Credit must be given to Microsoft for understanding that content like this works best when you don’t have to insert your brand into the story, instead focusing on the conversations shared by a broad group of subject matter experts.”
Corrigan spent four years writing about business and technology as a senior reporter and online editor at the AFR. He’s also edited magazines for Fairfax Media and IDG Communications during a 15-year journalism career. He’s spent the past four years helping technology and other B2B organisations tell their stories more effectively through audience led content.
Corrigan joined Ogilvy PR in 2017 into a newly created role as Howorth’s Director of Content.
