29 June, 2018: The Invictus Games are coming to Sydney in 2018 and Ogilvy PR Australia has been enlisted to help deliver the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 messages and showcase the healing power of sport.
The Invictus Games Sydney 2018 celebrate sporting achievement and competition for more than 500 wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women from 18 nations. Participants will compete in 10 different adaptive sports with events being held across Greater Sydney, including Sydney Olympic Park and on and around Sydney Harbour.
In June, Ogilvy PR worked with Invictus Games Sydney 2018 on the next phase of the campaign – 500 Days to Go (following the announcement that the fourth Invictus Games will take place in Sydney last November).
Ogilvy PR was awarded the account to work with Invictus Games Sydney 2018, the Australian Defence Force, the Australian Federal Police, the Prime Minister’s Office, the NSW Premier’s Office and the Governor-General, whom executed a successful media and stakeholder tour across numerous locations in Sydney, including a formal reception at Admiralty House and a sailing sports demonstration on Sydney Harbour.
Across two days, five media events were hosted with national and international media, securing thousands of positive pieces of coverage across broadcast, print and online. Ogilvy PR worked with Invictus Games Sydney 2018 to create all key materials for the tour including key messages, logistic schedules and drafting speaking points for VIPs and dignitaries; while amplifying the events through the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 social media channels, reaching an audience of over 283,000 with a Facebook Live stream and a potential viral reach in the millions thanks to influencer engagement and management.
