October 28, 2015: Ogilvy PR Australia’s work across the business, social awareness and crisis communications fields was recognised by the Public Relations Institute Australia (PRIA) this week, with the agency receiving a number of high profile accolades at the Golden Target Awards.
The agency’s work on the release of journalist Peter Greste won two category awards; the coveted International Campaign of the Year Award and Issues Management and Crisis Communications. The ‘Expectations vs Reality of retirement in Australia’ work executed by Ogilvy PR for Mercer also received a Highly Commended in the Business to Business Marketing category.
However, awards received were not just restricted to outstanding work; Ogilvy PR’s talented staff were also recognised. Ogilvy PR Australia’s CFO and COO, Paul Rushton-Clarke received the President’s Award for his work as PRIA National Treasurer, while Ogilvy PR Australia’s Group Managing Director, Corporate, Susan Redden Makatoa, was elevated to a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA). Elevation to Fellow is one of the highest honours awarded by the PRIA.

Ogilvy PR’s sister agency in Western Australia was also recognised in the awards; Cannings Purple took out the Integrated Marcomms category for its ‘Heart of Gold’ Campaign for WA gold miners.
The PRIA Golden Target Awards have recognised excellence in public relations since 1976.
